Training
After many years of experience as a government-employed medical examiner and as a private practice forensic pathology consultant, Dr. Young has finally perfected reliable techniques to “find the truth behind the death” or — in the living victim — the injury. He now offers to train others how to do the same.
Although it might not seem in his best interest to reveal “trade secrets,” Dr. Young nevertheless makes himself available to teach interested persons how to analyze forensic cases as he does. He would rather show forensic professionals — child abuse pediatricians, pathologists, medical examiners and other forensic experts — how to analyze cases logically and scientifically before they go to court rather than face the fallout in the courtroom after serious mistakes have been made. Too often, injustice is perpetrated in our courtrooms through faulty scientific testimony. Dr. Young wants to do what he can to prevent this from happening.
In reality, Dr. Young has no “trade secrets.” He has published his methods and their logical bases on this website. Still, many need help applying theory to practice, specifically to case analysis. Dr. Young would be happy to show anyone and everyone how to do that.
Besides medical and scientific professionals, Dr. Young also makes himself available to the legal and law enforcement communities. He will instruct these professionals on how to detect when scientific opinions and testimony are logically invalid and unreliable. This should enhance the “gatekeeper” function of the courts and allow them to exclude faulty scientific expert testimony.
Dr. Young is both a talented one-on-one teacher and an exciting and engaging public speaker. He would be happy to provide group training, individual training or both. He can demonstrate his techniques on some of your specific casework as well as provide examples from his own cases.
Dr. Young bills for his time, similar to a consultation.
